Serving the Upstate Community
USC Upstate Bookstore has proudly supplied the University of  South Carolina Upstate community with textbooks and academic supplies for over 35 years. In that time, we have built one of the best text departments in the country. That does not mean that we are done with change, however. We still strive each day to meet the demands of our customers to the best of our abilities. If you have any suggestions or questions, we'd love to hear from you. Please send email to one of the following addresses and we'll get back to you as soon as possible:

REFUND & EXCHANGE POLICY

The Right Book, from the Right Place
When you get your books from the campus bookstore, you can be sure you're getting exactly what you need to be prepared for class. Textbook editions change all the time, so we work closely with your faculty members to ensure we have the right books on our shelves for all of your courses.
Add/Drop Protection
They say "...you better shop around," but here's one time you may want to reconsider. Many online book sellers won't refund your purchase if you drop a class - leaving you out of luck. If you drop a course during the school's add/drop period, you can return your books to the bookstore for a refund (check our refund and exchange policy for details). So don't waste your time or risk wasting your money. Buy your books with confidence from the campus store!

CASH REGISTER RECEIPT REQUIRED FOR ALL

REFUNDS & EXCHANGES

 TEXTBOOKS:

1)      You must have a cash register receipt dated no earlier than 3 weeks before class start date.

2)      Textbooks may be returned for a full refund or exchange during the first 5 days of the fall and spring semesters.  To receive a full refund, the following conditions will apply (no exceptions):

a.       New textbooks must be in perfect condition:  No bent corners, no writing, no stains, no pencil markings, no book bag scuffing, no broken spines.  Please check your textbooks when purchasing them.

b.      Items that are shrink-wrapped are non-returnable if they are opened.  Sorry!  Do not remove the shrink-wrap from the book until you make sure that you are going to need it.  Go to class before you open it!

c.       Bookstore staff/management is the sole judge in determining whether a book is in new or used condition.

3)      Refunds will be given back in the same form of payment, i.e., if you pay with a credit card, you will receive a credit card refund, use a book voucher and you will get a credit on your account.

4)      If you purchase a book for a class and you do not use the book, this does not warrant a refund after the time for refunds has expired.  Make sure, during the first days of class, that you have the correct books and that the books you have will be used.

5)      If you drop a class:  you have 5 days after the refund period (second week of class) has ended to return your book.  You must have a cash register receipt and a drop slip to receive a full refund.

6)      Refund period for Maymester – 2 days from and including first day of class.   Summer I, and Summer II  - 3 days from and including the first day of class.  This is for all returns and exchanges.

ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS/EXCHANGES will be allowed after the full refund and drop/add period.

Other Merchandise:

  1.  Clothing/school supplies/gift items may be exchanged only 15 days from date of receipt.  No cash refunds will be given.  A register receipt    must accompany the exchange.

  2. Software, printer supplies, all electronics, CDs, and video games are “ALL SALES FINAL”.  Please make your selections carefully.
